ZES has 134 active members and 140 registered members as at 11 June 2021. These are distributed as shown below:
CALL FOR MEMBERS TO PAY MEMBERSHIP FEES
In line with the resolution of the recent AGM below, new membership fee below will apply and a Membership Number and plastic Membership Card will be issued.
AGM RESOLUTION
It was agreed that the membership fees and annual subscriptions with immediate effect be as follows:
a. Corporate Member: $100 with the following additional benefits - nominates up to 4 participants to meetings and activities, discounted training, flexibility to nominate anyone to attend workshops, discounted fees for evaluation services, access to ZES database of consultants, access to advertising space on ZES website. These are in addition to benefits of a Full Member.
b. Full Member: $30. Full membership will be on the basis of experience, and qualifications. Benefits include qualification to facilitate at workshops and other ZES Activities in addition to subsidized fees to attend M&E workshops, mentorship in M&E practice and professional networking locally, regionally, continentally and globally, and access to valuable documents/literature in M&E practice.
c. Associate Member: $20. Subsidized fees to attend M&E workshops, mentorship in M&E practice and professional networking locally, regionally, continentally and globally, and access to valuable documents/literature in M&E practice.
d. Student, $10. Subsidized fees to attend M&E workshops, attachment and internship placements, mentorship in M&E practice and professional networking locally, regionally, continentally and globally, and access to valuable documents/literature in M&E practice.

"I am based out in Afghanistan right now working as a Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. I am joining ZES to learn from fellow practitioners and to remain with M&E trends in the context of Zimbabwe. Invitation to the UNICEF IMPrESS
Dear ZES Members
I am pleased to share an important opportunity that UNICEF's Evaluation Office recently announced which 2 members of your organisation undertook last year. We are looking for 2 more candidates from ZES to undertake this course either in the 1st or 2nd cohorts this September.
There’s time to enroll for the 4 Sep Cohort until 31 August, and for the 18 Sep Cohort until 11 September.
After that no more IMPrESS until late Feb 2024.
The most important thing is to get people who are able and committed to spending the 6-7 weeks and complete the coursework and attend all webinars. Else, no Certificate.

IMPrESS - the UNICEF Intermediate Moderated Programme for Evaluation Systems' Strengthening is opening pre-registration for two English cohorts starting in September. This training facilitates online training is an incredible opportunity for governments, implementing partners, evaluation associations, academia, and other actors involved in evaluation activities.
Please see the attached poster, FAQ and facilitators’ bios for more details on the programme.
Please carefully check the dates and times of the mandatory two-hour live webinars as indicated in the pre-registration links and below, to ensure candidates can meet the required level of effort of six hours per week over the 6 to 7-week duration of the IMPrESS.
Candidates will need to complete all exercises, tasks and learnings and participate in the webinars in order to receive their IMPrESS certificate.
Kindly register for one of the following IMPrESS Courses that they prefer, as soon as possible.
Cohort from 4 September and 20 October 2023 – Europe time zone
Webinars will be held from 2.00 to 4.00 pm UTC / 4.00 to 6.00 pm CEST.
Cohort from 18 September and 3 November 2023 – Africa time zone
Webinars will be held from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm UTC / 12.00 to 2.00 pm WAT / 2.00 to 4.00 pm EAT.
Background information about IMPrESS
As you know, participation in IMPrESS entails no financial costs but it does require time commitment. For detailed information on IMPrESS, please see below and the attachments:
- IMPrESS is a facilitated online training that requires about 35-40 hours coursework over 6-7 weeks to strengthen national evaluative decision-making and management skills in conducting utilization-focused, quality evaluations that are context-specific, fit-for-purpose, and address equity and human rights.
- IMPrESS is primarily for governments, implementing partners, evaluation associations, academia, UNICEF staff and other actors who commission, manage, conduct, and use evaluation results.
- IMPrESS entails an expected effort of six hours of coursework per week over 6-7 weeks. The Course includes three mandatory two-hour live webinars, autonomous group work, and self-directed learning through videos, recordings, or podcasts. Approximately 75 per cent of the Course is self-directed studying, while the rest is facilitated learning.

The case competition gives students in all countries an opportunity to experience the intellectual challenge and excitement of program evaluation. Working in small teams on a downloaded evaluation case, students gain a better appreciation of our profession and the career opportunities that it offers.
